Well i was just wondering if we could hear sound in space without using the normal radiowave method. I was just thinking if water would conduct sound - hydroacoustics- as it does on land, in space and a device present which converts the sound waves in water to audible sound, which is then transferred using headphones to the astronauts ears. It may not be as convenient as radio waves, but would surely just transmit sound waves without using radio waves, like when astronauts are talking to each other. So basically, how this thing would work is that an astronaut speaks into a small tube, connected to a vessel containing a limited amount of water. Sound would travel through water, the converter would convert sound waves in water to audible sound waves, which the other astronaut/s can hear through headphones. Or else, the astronaut who has to convey the message, can speak into a mic which sends signals through water, without the use of any radio waves.

Will the world really end in 2012???

All of you surely must have heard stuff like "Aaah!!!We are all going to die in 2012", but do you really believe that something of this sort is going to happen?? Now, even renowned scientific experts are saying that....but, would one have even thought about such a crazy things if it were not for the Mayans?
A brief history of the Mayans, and why people are believing them.
The Mayans are a blood thirsty race, that is good at 2 things- building highly accurate astrological equipment, and sacrificing virgins(Why would one do that????). Thousands of years ago, their prediction of the length of a lunar cycle was very close, so people believe that they have calculated this also correctly.

Mayans were the first ones to think up of this(or calculate this according to some).

Another reason for this is solar storms or sun storms, which are basically very energetic radiations from the sun. These stirms have knocked out power grids, and have vaporised satellites. These storms are said to be increasing by the day, and scientists have predicted, that some time in 2012, these storms will reach a deadly peak, where not only satellites and power grids would be destroyed, but our mere existance would seem impossible.

If you remember the Large Hadron Collider or the Atom Smasher, which was to be tested in Europe, this could cause serious concern to life. The first test it had, was succesful, but it was minor. Another test is expected to happen most likely in december 2012, and is supposed to be 10,000 times more intense than the first one, so now there is a scare of major blackholes being created, which would turn our earth into a blob.

Also, the bible, the chinese book of changes, and many hindu teachings have also predicted the same.

yellowstone national park in USA, is famous for its thermal springs, and geyser. the reason for this is that it is sitting on top of the worlds largest volcano, which is supposed to burst every 650,00 years, and now it is many years overdue, so it can actually burst any second, maybe when you are simply reading this blog.

Lastly, physists are predicting that the earth is overdue for a major catastrophic event. Also, it is said that the poles shift positions every 750,00 years, and we are already 30,000 years overdue. The poles are shifting currently at speeds of 20-30km per year, and the speed is likely to become 20-30km per month soon. Shifting of the poles, would lead to the disruption of the earth's magnetic field, and it may go away for upto 100years. the result would be ultra energetic UV outdoors, that would kill anything they touch.

Google is giving these chrome notebooks to people for testing how well their notebook wud work. This is sö cool, cuz u get a notebook, with gud graphics, a fast processor, and a shud be 'amazing' OS, for free......i think that it, a gr8 idea to like "distribute" free notebooks.
